2012
We are located approximately four miles south of Cumberland, Maryland in wild, wonderful West Virginia on top of scenic Knobley Mountain. Our airfield faces west and provides a breathtaking view of the valley below and Dan’s Mountain in the distance. Nothing compares to the sunsets that close each day here (but then we are a little biased). GPS settings on HighPoint Aviation Airfield:
Latitude: North 39° 34.872' Longitude: West 78° 48.230'
Our airfield hosts the Cumberland Aircraft Model Society (CAMS) and has hosted the Annual Cumberland Soar for Fun for forty-five consecutive years now! Although we get the occasional full-scale visitor, our airfield is primarily dedicated to model aviation. Everything from airplanes to helicopters to sailplanes have filled our sky. Be they small or large, we love to see them fly.
The Cumberland/TriState area has a rich aviation history and we often have visitors from the local full-scale airfields. Some arrive by land and others by air! Seems all pilots are joined in the aviation fraternity. Sharing the thrill of flight and the love of aircraft knows no scale.
GPS settings for Crestwood Loop & West Virginia Route 28 (this is where you turn off of Rt 28 to get to the field):
Latitude: North 39° 34.941' Longitude: West 78° 47.134'
